Synopsis
While performing an Indian classical dance, Veda is disturbed by the sudden appearance of the uncle who abused her as a child. As she keeps dancing, she struggles with the decision of keeping the performance going, literally and metaphorically, or letting the world know the truth about this man and her torture.
Themes
Just as water can both be the source of life and the cause of death, so too religion can be harnessed for good and evil. The Hindu traditions that I show in this film are no exception.
The Sanskrit word, Veda, means "knowledge" . The Vedas are the most ancient Hindu scriptures, preserved through centuries by oral tradition. Some say the Vedas are the language of the Gods, and thus, Veda's name becomes an all encompassing experience of the traditional, the spiritual, and the eventual knowing and restoring of herself, her sanity, and her power.
